PV curtailment puts a stop to this phenomenon, but can also cause energy losses and reduced yields. <strong>I list the pros and cons for you<\/strong>. <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is PV curtailment?<\/h2>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;PV&#8221; in PVurtailment stands for <strong>Photovoltaics<\/strong>, or <strong>solar energy<\/strong> (from solar panels). We speak of PVurtailment when the solar panels on your farm produce more electricity than the grid can handle.  This partially or fully limits energy generation.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is applied during peak times to reduce the amount of electricity added to the grid. This helps to balance the power grid and reduce &#8220;congestion&#8221; on the grid.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PV curtailment occurs at:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Limitations of the grid<\/strong> at certain times<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Overproduction during sunny periods<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Regulations limiting injection<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a result, some of your solar energy cannot be used or stored, which is inefficient and can increase costs. Supply and demand must always be matched.
