Natural Stone Heymans has been making targeted investments in making their site more sustainable for years. This year, the focus was on a smarter electricity policy, with solar panels, battery storage and smart energy control as key pillars. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The challenge<\/h2>\n\n

Natural Stone Heymans had already contacted several suppliers for solar panels and battery storage. Only the proposals varied widely in terms of approach, dimensioning and expected results. <\/p>\n\n

This created an important question:<\/p>\n\n

Which solution really fits the consumption and operation of our site?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

A standard quotation was not enough. What was needed was an objective analysis of the company’s actual energy consumption and concrete needs. <\/p>\n\n

Energy scan as a starting point<\/h2>\n\n

We started the process with a comprehensive energy scan<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

During that analysis, the consumption profile,<\/strong> peak power<\/strong> and energy flows<\/strong> at the site, among others, were examined in detail.<\/p>\n\n

This showed that the site draws relatively high peaks<\/strong> at specific times, while average peak consumption remains rather limited. That presented interesting opportunities for smarter management of the capacity tariff and energy costs. <\/p>\n\n
